We believe in everyone’s voice and as such, we are proud to make this year about activism as well. While art is important, we wanted to recognize those in our community who are driven by a bigger purpose.

RACHELLE CARSON-BEGLEY

For decades, Rachelle Carson-Begley has used her work as an actress, creator, and producer to educated the public on environmental issues. In 2007, she opened her solar-powered home to America with the ground-breaking series Living With Ed, which premiered on HGTV and later continued on Discovery’s Planet Green. Living with Ed showcased the intricacies of leading an environmentally conscious life-style, while demonstrating to families across the country how they too could adopt eco-friendly practices. In two recent web-series, On Begley Street and Our Green House, Rachelle documented the construction of a new certified Leed Platinum home she built with her husband, Ed Begley Jr. She is now currently in development on  another reality program, where she and Ed challenge other celebrities to create environmentally conscious lifestyles themselves.

Rachelle started her acting career on stage in various theatre productions, including several seasons at the Williamstown Theater Festival. She moved to Los Angeles soon after and book her first season arch on the CBS show Falcon Crest. Rachelle has continued to work in tv and film for the last 36 years and has appeared in many cult-classics, such as Henry Jaglom’s Eating, Jamie Babbit’s But I’m a Cheerleader, and Sofia Coppola’s Bling Ring. Her recent projects include Land of Dreams written by the late-great  Jean Claude Carrier and the award-winning comedy Reboot Camp by Ivo Raza. Most recently Better Call Saul on FX  and Cobra Kai for Netflix .

ED BEGLEY, JR.

Ed Begley, Jr. is currently recurring on the series YOUNG SHELDON and BETTER CALL SAUL and was recently a series regular on ABC’s BLESS THIS MESS and Netflix’s FUTURE MAN.  He has also joined the cast for the reboot of the series, QUEER AS FOLK.

On the environmental front, he is one of the foremost environmentalists in Hollywood, supporting and advocating for multiple eco-initiatives and charity organizations.  He is also the name and face behind the successful BEGLEY’S EARTH RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTS, a line of plant-based eco-friendly cleaning and pet supplies.  All products are available on Amazon.comWalmart.com and soon to be available on Chewy.com

  

Begley is a Golden Globe and seven-time Emmy nominated actor who for decades, has been a champion and educator for causes dedicated to protecting the earth.  In support of this work, he starred opposite his lovely wife and daughter on the hit eco-reality shows LIVING WITH ED and ON BEGLEY STREET.

Inspired by the works of his Academy Award-winning father, Begley became an actor. He first gained major notoriety for his portrayal of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on the long-running television series, ST. ELSEWHERE for which he received six of his Emmy nominations. Since then he has moved easily between feature film, television, streaming and theatre.

Begley has appeared in the Christopher Guest films A MIGHTY WIND, BEST IN SHOW and FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. Other feature film credits include BOOK CLUB, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, BATMAN FOREVER, THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST, THE INLAWS and countless more.

On television, Begley has recurred on ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, PORTLANDIA, BETTER CALL SAUL, MODERN FAMILY, VERONICA MARS, SIX FEET UNDER and SEVENTH HEAVEN among others.  He received his seventh Emmy nominated for the streaming series CTRL ALT DELETE.  He has also guest starred on many other series including THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, THE WEST WING, THE PRACTICE, BOSTON LEGAL and dozens more.

On the stage, he led the West Coast Premiere of David Mamet’s CRYPTOGRAM at the Geffen Playhouse, in the role that he first performed in Boston and New York. He also starred in Mr. Mamet’s production of ROMANCE at the Mark Taper Forum.  Ed Begley Jr. wrote and directed the musical CESAR AND RUBEN, a play that won him a Nos Otros Award and four Valley Theater League Awards.
