After graduating from the prestigious boarding school, Deerfield Academy, Lisa moved to New York where she attended Columbia University. Always an artist at heart, Lisa’s practical side gave way to her independent spirit, and she enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and The School for Film and Television. While working in the fashion industry, she started her career as an actor in the off-Broadway theater scene of New York City. However, she soon learned that her passion (and strength) was in writing and directing.
Tracy Michele Tabb
Tracy Michele Tabb has been in and around the industry for over 40 years. Yes, she started when she was 2! She is a multi-media guru and a graphic artist/designer for more than 25 years. She has also taken on consulting, marketing, and advertising. Although directing films was her primary passion, she has worked in multiple facets of the filming industry including, but not limited to, graphics, editing, being an AD, still photography, and being a prop master on film sets. Tracy has even created marketing campaign commercials for multi million-dollar companies.
Freshmen Producer & Content Marketing Analyst, Kawika is changing the way indie films do business by challenging the norms that have maintained the status quo of Hollywood. His goal is to educate and push indie filmmakers to keep ownership of their films, self distribute, and connect with audiences personally on their own terms. He is currently launching Manawa Kau, A Hawaiian Motion Picture Company intent on getting Hawaiians both on the islands and mainland, back to work. With over 20 years’ experience making movies, Kevin Roy started in the film industry as a 1st Assistant Director in the Houston independent film scene while still attending college. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to continue his education in a professional role. Through work ethic, drive, and being able to stay calm under pressure, it didn't take Kevin long to integrate into a network of filmmakers on the rise. Working in Production Teams alongside Directors such as Tony & Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, and David Fincher, Kevin climbed the ranks of responsibility and was eventually invited to join the Director's Guild of America.
Bruce's 40+ year music and production career has ranged from authoring two original plays, work as producer of several others, short-story author, bassist and accomplished songwriter and composer. Bruce and his wife Leanne founded Brulee Music in 2015 to advocate and protect the rights of songwriters and recording artists. He is currently working on an array of projects ranging from film scoring and arranging, music production and several collaborative works with other well-known artists and songwriters.
Michele Arrieh Nassif is a local writer who started her career as a news journalist and editor/contributor for a publishing company. A Wisconsin native, Michele studied English Literature/Writing and Humanistic Studies at St. Mary’s College-University of Notre Dame. She recently received a degree in Filmmaking from College of the Canyons and completed a Certificate in Screenwriting at UCLA. She is passionate about empowering women artists and bringing a film festival to Santa Clarita. She also works as the Associate Producer for MySCV.Life, SCIFF's community web series supporting local artists, non-profits, and businesses.
Corrie Sommers is a Realtor® licensed in CA & MA. Corrie is in the top 1% Nationally. Corrie is fiercely committed to and protective of her clients. Past and current clientele includes; Celebrities and professionals in TV / Film / Radio, professional Athletes, CEO's of Fortune 500 companies, Attorneys, multitude of varying facets of production in TV / Film, Entrepreneurs, Music Execs and more. Prior to selling real estate, while working in finance, for over 20 years Corrie also worked in the music industry. First with an internship at EMD Distribution (Capital, EMI and Virgin Records), journalism, to later running her own artist management/marketing firm.
Ray Schillaci is a professed film enthusiast whose wife thinks he’s downright obsessive. She insists he loves film more than her, their kids and dog. Not true, he loves that dog!
He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and has over 25 years’ experience in the motion picture and television industry. The last five years he shared duties running one of the major unions in Hollywood and was a director on the Motion Picture and Television Fund.
Gregory Bazile, originally from Louisiana is a director, writer, producer, businessman who studied filmmaking in New York City. Gregory Bazile, worked on numerous film projects and off Broadway plays in New York, where he got the opportunity to direct his first independent film. Gregory Bazile, having a love for the arts and a love of business, got an opportunity to study real estate. Gregory Bazile, after years of training he became a licensed general contractor and built residential homes scaling from 1400 square-foot homes to 16,000 square-foot homes.
Elaine Ballace is a Native CALIFORNIAN! She became a Professional Ice Skater at age 8, when there was a BIG difference between Amature and Pro. Along with her Professional Ice Skating, she began acting in Commercials by age 9. She loved both and did both for many years. However, her passion for acting soon won out and she never looked back! While she has been in countless projects and productions, her more recent credits include: Just completed her 4th Season, as FERN on the EMMY Nominated, 2 Time ISA AWARD-WINNING Comedy "The RICH and The RUTHLESS," now seen on BET+.
An award winning writer, director, and producer, Pat has been fortunate to
experience over thirty years of television, film, and stage in the business.
Starting his career in Chicago, he has made stints around the world working in places such as Tahiti, Thailand, and Japan where he worked with an all-Japanese cast performing shows in Japanese. His dedication to the craft on stage and in front of the camera has enabled his directing skills to lead to positive relationships and appreciated communication with actors.
Originally from Kentucky, Stephen moved to Santa Clarita in 1993 to obtain his Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production at the California Institute of the Arts. He has made short films and written several screenplays including a telescript which won the prestigious 2008 Austin Film Festival Award. He also has been recognized in several other script competitions.
Matt Fernandez attended SCIFF's first festival as a journalist and returns this year as a member of the event staff! Matt is a social media manager, actor, and podcaster who graduated from UCLA with degrees in history, psychology, and film studies. He is also an entertainment journalist with bylines in Variety Magazine, the Daily Bruin, and Geeks of Color. Matt's other film festival experience includes working as the Box Office Manager for the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
MARK HAYNES has been working in and around television, comics, and pop culture for more than twenty years, both as a writer and publisher. He is the co-writer of the American Mythology comic book series STARGATE ATLANTIS and STARGATE UNIVERSE, which has re-invigorated interest in the hit MGM television series. Mark was the co-writer of the IDW Publishing comic book series 24 based on the hit Fox television show. Titles include 24 STORIES, 24: ONE SHOT, and 24: MIDNIGHT SUN. As publisher of Realm Press, he guided the artistic development of a comic book series based on the classic BATTLESTAR GALACTICA as well as Syfy’s alien invasion saga FIRST WAVE.
Ellison Walcott is camera shy, so she has spent over a decade lurking behind the scenes in multiple facets in the arts and entertainment industries in New York City. She is a content producer and editor, social media manager, photographer, and occasionally has been an extra in film. Her writing has been published online and in print in literary journals, regional and alternative websites, and national and international arts magazines. Ellison has won several grants, awards and scholarships for her creative endeavors. She has an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and an MA and BA in English Literature from the University of Louisville in Kentucky, She also has attended writing workshops at Columbia University and Yale.
